Default Bunk Beds on Liberty

Hello Everyone,
Newbie here. We have just booked a cruise on the Liberty for next year. We have been assigned a cabin on the 1st Passenger Deck. Is this on the Rivera Deck?
Also we went with the bunk beds to keep the cost down. Hubby is 6 feet and 200 lbs, did we do the right thing?

Enjoying reading all your great tips. This is our first cruise with Carnival. We were on the Explorer of the Seas last year, loved it.
Thanking you in advance.

Hi pleasure2meetu,

Welcome to Cruisemates!

I could be wrong, but I don't think any of the Rivera deck cabins have bunk beds. They're usually twin beds that can be pushed together to make a queen bed.

If you'll tell us the category you booked we'll be able to help you more!

Your hubby should be fine with a regular bed.

I also think you'd probably have a good chance at being upgraded if you booked a guarantee.

Hi Fern, Thanks for your response. Cabin # TBA Cat 1A. At time of booking I was given a choice of the twin beds that convert to queen or the Bunk Beds.

Hi pleasure2meetu,

If you booked well in advance I think you have an excellent chance of being upgraded unless you've booked a very popular week and the ship is completely full. If I'm reading the deck plan correctly there are only four 1A cabins!

Please let us know what cabin you end up with and have a wonderful cruise, no matter where you are !

Hi again Fern,

Well, we have already been upgraded to CAT 4A so no more concerns about the room.

Going to be a great way to start off the New Year.
Happy 'Holly' Days to you and yours.[/img]

Yep, I think Fern is right. The "bunk beds" on the ship consist of two "bunks" that fold down out of the wall, above the twin beds that can be pushed together to make a king. The only problem that I have with this, is that when folded up, they protrude somewhat from the wall, and when I get up in the night, I bump my head on them if I'm not careful.
Have a great cruise!
Ken

When we were on the Conquest (4A) our daughter had a bed that came out of the ceiling on the left side of the cabin.... She loved it, her palace & bird's eye view..
