Default Hurricane Season?

What are peoples thoughts about sailing during hurricane season?
Our last cruise was during Rita in 2005 and we were lucky because we had to stay out 2 extra nights but that meant the next week cruise was changed from a 7 night to a 5 night. I am not sure if I would take that chance again but wanted your opinion about sailing at those times...

I've taken many cruises during hurricane season. Granted, you're unlucky if you're stuck in one. But it's mathemetically much more probible that you won't be stuck in one

Well if you throw out any cruises in Hurricane season, that eliminates anything from June 1st through December 1st....

Enjoy the other 6 months.....

I plan on taking advantage of the ridiculously low prices in September each and every year.

As long as you aren't set on an exact iternary, there is nothing wrong with cruising in season....
If there is a particular port you definitely don't want to miss....
Book winter or spring...

We have cruised during hurricane season every time except for once. Like Bill said, plan on possible changes. As far as I am concerned, any caribbean spot will be much nicer than hanging out in my house Give me sunshine, a beach and a daiquiri and I am happy
