Free Travel Insurance??????

I was just on a cruise agent web site that I think I found on Cruise Mates and they claim to give free travel insurance on all purchases. The rates they offer seem to be on par with where they should be. I usually don't purchase insurance but this would be a nice plus for no extra cost. Does anyone know any thing about this. 8)

I don't but we paid $124 for our insurance on our upcoming cruise.
Guess that's not to much for them to give away. However my mama always told me "nothing is free."

I use an online site to book cruises and they offer free insurance. The catch is you pay the premium up front and when you make the final payment they deduct the amount. I guess they draw interest on the money they collect upfront or something. Anyway the travel insurance covers all the necessities - medical, stolen property, cruise cancellation etc. I love it!

There are several companies that do offer free insurance as an add on. For example Best Price Cruises handled our upcoming group cruise on the NCL Jewel, and full insurance was added as an extra amenity.

We received the insurance documents with the cruise documents.

A friend booked on this trip had to cancel just a few weeks before the upcoming sailing, and the insurance covered the cancellation.

Thanks Kuki, That was actually the web site is was speaking of (Best Price Cruises). I did not know if you were able to mention the site. That is actually a pretty good deal then. Especially if you can get the cruise at the best available price to boot. Thanks

Hi Kuki,
I noticed at the site that if one books the Nov. 17th Carnival cruise online they get the insurance.

Any chance the CM Group Cruise on this sailing has it included?

BPC balcony cabin price is $ 1156.90 PER PERSON.. our group price $850 PER PERSON plus a shipboard credit .

On our first three cruises we received free travel insurance plus free weekend getaways. I booked them on Carnival but did it online on the cruise site. We used Cruive Value center from East Brunswick NJ . We never had a problem with them. This time coming up for the Glory 2008 cruise I did not book with my former travel agency but I booked it directly with Carnival and I did not receive anything,

!! Yeah Kuki I did see the rates were higher than we got as a group. I guess I was just hoping it was a REALLY good deal.

Liz thinks I worry too much about getting ins on this trip (and she is an ins agent) but I just have a gut feeling we are going to wish we had it.

We learned too late that when one places just a "deposit" on a booking, you have only 2 weeks from that point to get the coverage.

I should think when one makes the full payment, they have demonstrated a commitment to the trip and should be allowed to buy full coverage at that point. Anyone can make a $25 deposit....it's following thru that makes the difference.
