it seems like security at the port is about the same as the airport. your checked luggage will be screened with x-ray, same with carry on, once on the ship, i have found leaving the ship, you just walk off, coming back on board, you have to check all purchased liquor and your carry on will be screened again each time. i have never seen anyone being searched, as in patted down. your sign and sail card must be with you to leave and board again.hope this helps some.
it helps alot i appreciate it.. but wat bout when you get bak to port.. do you have to go through customs all ovr again coming in?
Yes you do because you are reentering the country.
Life is too short to let the ship of your dreams sail without you.

Yes, when you come back into the US you must go through Customs and Immigration. You'll see several little beagles who will be sniffing the luggage when you get back to the US. They can sniff out anything illegal (Cuban cigars, for example). You also have to go through this if your cruise goes to a "foreign" port and then to St. Thomas (USVI).
You'll be given a Customs form on the last night of your cruise. We list any "big" purchases (jewelry, liquor, cigarettes. etc.; that's what they ask about) separately, and then list souvenirs ($100.00), whether we spent that much or not.
