Default Bermuda question...

Probably a dumb question on the CCL forum but, if one takes a cruise to Bermuda...
Since the ship is in port all the time except going and returning....
is there a way anyone knows of to find out which side of the ship to have your cabin(balcony) on so that it is facing the island ?

Not a dumb question at all.. I never thought to ask that on my cruises. I think the only way you will know is to ask past cruisers who have been on the same cruise your going on. Sometimes things change but more often then not.. they do the exact same dockage over and over...

If it is worth finding out depends upon where exactly the ship is docked. You may have a cabin facing the island and look out upon a refueling station, cargo loading and unloading, or like some islands, just a area of indefinite construction with all the noise, dust, and ugliness. The cabins out to sea will have an unspoiled view of the ocean, or a point of land farther away, or local boat traffic. It goes both ways. One of the better locations for cabins facing the land side was Cozumel, but since the hurricanes it is an ugly mess until the ship piers are rebuilt, the beaches are replenished, and destroyed buildings along the ocean are razed and new ones in their place. In Bermuda our ship was tied up at the Navy yard at the end of the island.

I tried calling the cruiselines, they would not give that info out. I suppose you have a good point. Would be better over all to be on the ocean side.

It's not the same cruise after cruise.

I sailed to Bermuda expecting to be facing land, as all the previous sailors were saying the bow faced north. Imagine my surprise and glee when we got there, and our bow faced south. We had the bay at our balcony!

Previous cruise, on Carnival, we had an aft balcony, and the bow faced north. Once again we had the bay at our balcony. I hope to be lucky once again this August.
