They do have the time on the phones, but not by any means an actual clock. You can't see the time in the dark. You can always have a wake up call, or if you order room service for breakfast, they usually call right before they deliver your order, so that works too.

We actually used watches and cell phones most of the time while on ship. Our cells didn't get service so we didn't have to worry about them changing time

Bring a battery operated clock with you. Using the cell phone clock will work, BUT, from what I understand , if you get a call (whether you answer it or not) you'll be charged.

Why are there not clocks in the rooms on a cruise ship? I have always wondered about that...

No that is not true. A cell phone is charge only when a call is connected/completed. If you don't pick if up, you won't be charged. Sold a lot of cell phone to put myself through college Carla

I think it's because the electricity fluctuates so much on the ship. A clock would be "off" all the time! That said, we did have a battery clock on our last NCL cruise. I'm not sure why ?

Thanks for that info! I've read differently, but since you've "been there and done that" I'll rely on your info.

We just bring a small alarm clock. It is nice to know the time.

For the same reason that there are no clocks in casinos. They want you out of the cabin spending your money. Also a clock is an easily pilfered item. Hotels don't put logos on ash trays anymore so folks don't take them as a souvenir.

I use the wake up service if needed. Otherwise, the watch on the window sill worked fine.

We turn on the TV and tune it the the channel that has the "Bridge Cam" on it. It usually has the time on it. Also, if you are in an inside rcabin that basically has no light to help wake you up in the morning, tune it to the web cam channel and the screen will get brighter as it gets lighter outside.
