Yes, I am STILL unpacking from our cruise...I found my room key card in my evening bag. Do I send it back?? Will I be charged??

I will tell you what Homeland Security told me. Those room card keys have all your personal information on it. Especially your credit card number. This includes hotel rooms in the U.S.A. Always destroy it. I shred mine as soon as I can...You can have your identity stolen if in the hands of the wrong person...
I saved my last two as souvenirs. It would have to be some pretty hi-tech savy person/people to be able to extract any tangible info from them. As long as you don't lose them, I'd imagine you're okay. 8)
I've got a stack of 'em 4" tall. I just take a magnet and pass it over the mag strip, and that will take care of any info on them. They make great souvenirs of your past cruises, and you can look back and see when you were on any given ship, etc.
I have a collection of hotel room keys (I travel with my job) that we used for safe keys on our group cruise. Hit them with a magnet and we were ready to go! Which reminds me....one of our moms was so angry, seems she had to get her sail & sign card recoded two and three times a day. I happened to watch her puff up outside her doorway when it wouldn't work. I asked her if her purse had a magnetic clasp. It did. I explained what was happening and she said, "They should make cards that can handle the magnetic clasps." Now, THAT is a scary thought!
