My worst on a seven day cruise was about $1800, but that included some artwork that my wife wanted.

Generally, it has been $500-$800 for two people. My wife does not drink and we generally do not take shore excursions.

I was in Atlantic City is past weekend and can tell you without a doubt that if slots are your thing, the slots on Carnival ships pay a whole lot better than the ones in Atlantic City. I think Carnival has them calibrated so that, even if you don't end up winning, at least your money will last long enough for you to enjoy yourself. Which is what happens to me on every cruise. $20 lasts a long time in a Carnival slot machine and $50 could last all night long. I know, I am an expert on how long it takes to lose money in a slot machine. Hahahaha

Default how we got away with $500 on a 5 day cruise

I am sure everyone will say we are bad people...but we brought our own liquor as well. We did buy 4-5 drink of the days a day in souviner glasses and either a bottle of wine or bucket of beer at night and ALL of our pictures and 2 coke cards and the gratuity's and it was 500 on a 5 day cruise to grand cayman and Ocho Rios. We had a free round of golf in Grand Cayman and did the falls by ourselves on Ocho Rios. So no excursion costs. then spent time at margaritaville and senor frogs. We put barcardi limon and captain in plastic bottles and sealed them. We left everything out on the counters and used the yards we got from Senor Frogs and Margaritaville to make drinks and our room steward would clean them for us every afternoon. I am going to bring wine this time thought. That is all I really drink anymore and I am sure he will bring captain. We have hard shell suitcases so they can throw them around and nothing will ever break.
