And that fashion coup makes the best outfits. I have put together some unbelievable outfits by matching clothes, shoes, purses that may have been purchased not only separately but even in separate years.

Yes, isn't that true. It is soooooooooo exciting to be able to "match" up something, without having to go out and SPEND money , just to match what you just got.

What I enjoy.....is receiving "compliments" all the time of outfits that "match", where perhaps (as you said) I had purchase one of the items a few years ago, and forgot all about it.

i'm taking atleast 5 pair, a black strappy heel for my dresses (comfy tho) thing the black will go with everything i am taking. 1 pair of comfy slide sandles (i hate flip flops lol) 1 pair of tennis shoes, my treva sandles, and either a pair of crocs or another pair of dressier sandles, im paranoid that my dress shoes will break or something and i wont have more shoes to wear wiht my dress clothes.

i dont know how anyone can pack less than 3 pairs, i hate shoes, hate shopping for them and could care less about them...but still....

I will have my usual bag dedicated to my shoes. If you need an extra pair, come knock on my door. I'm sure I'll have something you can use.

Well as I have probably said earlier, I like to have a pair of shoes (whether dress/casual) to MATCH all my clothes, whether I am going to dinner, or shopping. I may have a pair that goes with one, two, or three outfits, but I want to make sure they all match

I was the one who just HAD to take 11 pr. of shoes with me on my cruise last month! You all tried to tell me I was over-packing on everything but noooooooo, I wouldn't listen......

I ended up only wearing my brown or white Berkie's both on the ship and for excursions, black pumps for one formal night, brown open-toed heels for the other formal night. I could have bought more souvenirs if I didn't have a duffle-bag full of un-worn shoes......

HAHA I wear an 8W. We can take that extra width and let them stretch lengthwise! It can work!

But imagine the trauma if you decided you wanted to wear a pair of those shoes that you had negligently left at home.

(That is being a bad shoe-mommy!!)

Just the guilt of not having the proper shoes with you when you do indeed own the perfect pair is enough to ruin the entire cruise.

I jus can't imagine . . . . . . just gives me the shivers.

Wow I think I might be a bit insane but I am not sure I could survive with only 4 pairs of shoes. I take about 10, this does include my formal night heels. I love sandlas and flip flops and I love to coordinate. I would take what ever you wnat you could always hide them under the bed jeje.

Exactly. I am in 100% agreement with you. Also, on the same thought, I am not sure what the benefit is to packing "light". What difference does it make if you bring enough clothes to wear something different every day?

I take Caribbean cruises and it is hot year round. I cannot imagine wearing a pair of slacks on day 2 and then wearing the same slacks on day 5 but changing the blouse. After a full day or full evening in an outfit in the middle of the ocean, my clothes are a bit wilted whether I sweat, exerted myself or just sat in the casino (smoky) or the show lounge. I don't want to put them on again before I wash them. They may also smell of sea air which is lovely but I don't want to wear it like cologne.

Also, it is almost impossible for me to predict every outfit that I may want to wear or whether I want to spend the entire day in swimwear. I just can't see not bringing extra outfits, just in case with me.

With that in mind, I don't see why I would leave all of my pretty colorful sandals, sneakers, etc. at home rather than bring them so I can really enjoy my summer outfits and look spiffy.

Now to each its own but I don't see what the benefit of packing light. I just don't get it.

I do not get it either, why we should pack light. Imean I know why but I am on vacation I should be able to wear and bring what ever I want. I kno some people like to pack light and they do not mind recycled cloths I on teh other hand love to wear soemthing new each and everyday. I only get to sail once a year I want to make the best of it. I might change once I have kids and I will have to pack for them as well and share my cabin space with them. But for now it is all for me and the DH....

Wow, I really like you girls more and more. Shoes, purses, clothes, and now cruises to talk about. I have one week to go and finally have my BIG suitcase packed and ended up with 6 pairs of shoes. One pair of the canvas slides/mules (ked type shoes) for around the ship, pair of basic black flip flops for swimsuit, pair of black santeen slides with the chunky heel to wear to dinner, tennis shoes for excursions and when I will walk a lot, pewter strappy sandals for dress-up and then just because I could not make up my mind a pair of crystally strappy sandals that I might wear instead of the above, HEY THEY WERE ON SALE.
I could have put in a few more pairs but decided that the black goes with just about everything. But now that I think about it I might have to put in the pastel striped pair of sandals because you know sometimes black just does not go with everything.

Ok im purposely making all my dressier clothes work with black. I have a strappy pair of heels that could be either dressy or buisiness casual. I hate wearing pantyhose, but alas one of my nicer dresses (its white toul with black velvet flowers, strapless and omg so cute) is shorter and have to wear them ugh.

so you ladies are making me feel guilty about my 3 pairs of shoes...so here it goes...

my red crocs (hey theyre great at pool side), brown sandals, black sandals, brown treva sandals, and 2 count them 2 dressier black shoes. Thats 6 pairs.

Happy (i left off tennis shoes..i dont need them do i?)

I'm taking my tennis shoes only because they are the most comfortable shoes I own. I really do not feel comfortable walking around in grass or anything with open toed shoes. Our excursions are out doing things, hubby's choice, the beach was mine so I feel more comfortable with sturdy shoes. Believe me, I do not think tennis shoes look very good with shorts so I would not wear them if I could get away with it

Well as they say.....to each his own.

Someone mentioned about packing light, well I do in "some" areas, but NOT shoes.

cejay, you reminded me of something that I seen recently, and "hopefull" . I have not already told it.

You mentioned about wearing tennis shoes, and they may not always look the best, but I do understand, sometimes a person HAS to do things for comfort.

Anyway the other day I was paying for gasoline, when this lady walked in. I didn't want to be noticable, but I "did" 8) take a second look at her. She was probably around 50 - 60 with blond (looked like) bleached hair. She had shorts on (legs not tanned), with white anklets covering hose up to her knees. She really was a sight to see.
