Default Cash tips on board

I can not remember if the crew that serve cocktails are allowed to receive cash tips. I bought the alcohol drink tictets and all thought they are supposed to be inclusive of the 15% tip, I am not sure it the crew will appreciate me handing them a ticket when they serve my drink. Anyone know the protocol about this?

Yes, you can give them a buck or 2, its up to you.. I use the Main Atrium Lobby bar and I tip $1. each drink and by day 3 my drinks are stronger and by day 6, some of the drinks are on the house

If you tip the ones that walk around during the shows, they will be over to assist you quicker every night. Good tip there.

I personally sat in the same spot in the piano bar every night and had the same waitress the entire cruise. I tipped her every 2nd drink (i drank a lot hehe) and she always made sure I had a full drink!

I agree with Wennfred. When we were on the Mariner, one of the show Bar staff became like a son to us. He knew us and what we liked. He looked for us before the show and if he was working the other side of the theater, we just held up our fingers to indicate how many and within a few minutes he had them there. The last 3 nights, he would bring them in the pretty special "for sale" glasses and we ended up with a whole set. They do treat their "regulars" special.

Thanks guys, I used to be a bartender so I know tips are what changed the job from minimun wage poverty to providing a decent living for a divorced single mom who's ex never sent a penny. God blessed me with my DH of 18yrs who would work himself into the ground to provide us which is why do not ask for much.

Default Another tip on tipping

I always like to bring a bunch of $2.00 bills. This makes a nicer-looking tip and is a bit unique plus you don't have to carry all those ones. I like to use this for tipping every other drink and also use this for room service in the morning as I enjoy coffee in the room when waking up.

The drink tickets include a 15% gratuity. All drinks purchased with your card automatically have a 15% gratuity added.

I gave a couple of dollars each time we ordered room service, as I wasn't sure if the per diem amounts automatically charged included room service as well as dining room meals.

I'm not sure either, but it was well worth a buck or two to have coffee, danishes, yogurt, fruit, muffins - whatever, delivered every morning.

As far as the tips being added to the drink tickets, yep they automatically add 15%. If we've developed a good rapport with that server and want to slip them a buck or two, we do. We've never had bad service if we've tipped extra or not.

I highly recommend tipping the waiters are the captian's cocktail party. They will come over to your table way more and with the stonger drinks. My hubby did this on the last cruise I had about 4 free drinks, my hubby had more.
