This is my first time on the Carnival Triumph. What can you tell us about it. Likes and dislikes? What to do at the ports of: San Juan, St Thomas and Grand Turks. Thanks for any and all information. 30 days till gone! Can't wait.
I will be back from the Triumph on Oct.6. I will let you know what my impressions of the ship are. I have been to San Juan and St. Thomas and liked the ports. I have plan for GT at Bohio Dive resort. I'll post when I get back.
I sailed this ship a few months ago. It's a good time. Clean, lots to do, friendly staff.. I loved St thomas VI.. Very nice place.. I felt very safe there..
The piano bar was always rockin' on triumph but the piano man is now on another ship. They DON'T know how to cook a steak to save their lives, don't be afraid to send it back!!!!!!
Don't be afraid to pm me with questions

Hi Skylvr,
The Triumph is a great ship. Large and hard to get around on at first, some elevators don't go the certain floors, but after a day or two you should be able to find your way around. We love the disco bar, it's great for dancing and having a great time. The Paris dining room is on two separate floors,so check you sign and sail card for upper or lower. The food was great and service good. The main pool area is stadium seating type and usually crowded, but you can usually find a chair. The Piano bar is usually jumping, however this bar allows smoking and the smoke can get so thick when its full , it makes it hard to breath. The Triumph is so large you can find a place not so crowded and enjoy. The buffet , if you choose, is great at breakfast and lunch also, if you are looking for quick and easy. On the lido deck the burgers , pizza and hot dogs are quick and easy. The food is good, but hard to beat the dining room. There is one pool area that has a remote top and can be closed in case of bad weather so can keep on swimming. There is so much to do on this ship i am sure we missed alot ourselfs. Have a great trip and wish we were going also!
Looks like we will be on the same cruise. DW is looking forward to another shopping trip in St Thomas and is hoping the beach massages will be as nice in Half Moon Cay as they were at Costa Maya. I’m going to be real happy watching the ocean slip by on our balcony far away from computers and cell phones.
I hope you have the best of trips and hope we can compare notes afterwards.
Hiya Bob! Great to see I finally have a Cruisemate joining me. We'll be having a meet and greet from another online message board deck 9, aft pool bar, following muster drill, if you'd like to join us! Just wear some Mardi Gras beads so they know you're part of the group. Also don't know what your plans are in Grand Turk but we have a large group going to Bohio Dive Resort if you're interested. Hope to see you on board!
I just got off the Triumph last week! Not my fave ship but it was awesome. I completely agree with Deakon! Piano bar was better last year with "Mark". THe new guy, Garth, needs some help. Good player but BORING! And I prefer my meat to be dead but several times I'd get it and it's still red. I even had to chase it down once. I kid
Great fun. Too many kids, IMO. THe casino was a blast! HMC and Grand Turk were absolutely GORGEOUS. We had a little trouble in San Juan, but it wasn't Triumph's fault. About 2 hours after we sailed from SJ, we had to sail back for a medical emergency so we lost a few hours the next day at Grand Turk...
But so much fun. I'm jealous you get to go. Have fun!
JUST LEFT THE TRIUMPH ON SATURDAY 9 22 AND WAS NOT IMPRESSED. OUR ROOM SMELLED LIKE MCDONALDS FRYER , FOOD WAS ONLY DECENT, AND MORE. PURSERS DESK WAS LITLE HELP AND AFTER 9 CARNIVAL CRUISES, BACK TO RCCL AND NCL. BYE BYE CARNIVAL
Thanks Beenie, I'll look for you. We haven't planned what we're doing in the ports so we may be seeing you on Grand Turk. After several cruises we've become comfortable with just getting off at the port and finding something interesting to do.
Goodness, lots of reviews of the ship. I too was told to leave the ship on the September 22 because more people would be boarding in a few hours.
I found the whole trip amazing-the ship was clean, the food was yummy, the cabin was awesome (Cabin 1066), the social hosts were friendly and always perky! I loved the ports, but I didn't like the weather as much--I am not used to so many days at 36C to 41C (with humidex taken in consideration). Half Moon Cay will make you want to stay forever, but here is a hint, book an excursion as soon as the desk opens up so you can get on off the ship FIRST or else you may not get off the ship until 10:30 or later......Skip the Coral Land and Coral Sea tour, it isn't a big place and the sub tour is a disappointing--I wish I did the snorkling/sailing tour instead.
I hope you have a good time on the ship. The excellent service and food made my day. One tip, do eat in the dining room because the food is amazing and the waiters entertain you a few nights a week! Too many people went to the South Beach Club for dinner instead and didn't get to see that the choice in the dining room was far better and plenty of people wore casual clothes on formal night, hell I even wore sandals with my dressy clothes on the second formal night!
