Default My DW gave me a BIG SURPRISE last night

August of this year I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. I have been undergoing radiation treat for the last three weeks. I have to go 5 days a week for 8 weeks; my last treatment is Dec 27. This treatment takes a lot out of me.
Well, yesterday we had to go home from work early due to my tiredness, after I woke up from my nap, I was eating and watching CSI Miami when my DW came into the room and asked what I was watching. I told her water (which she knew what I meant). She sat down next to me and said that I was looking very tired but I was doing well with my treatments and doing everything the doctors have told me to do. She then said that after my treatments are done and I get over the side effects, that she would take us on a cruise so I can get some real rest. I looked at her and said “for real?? And she replied “yes, for real.?
I laid on the couch thinking about it for about 30 seconds; I jumped on my computer and looked for a cruise. This afternoon, I called our PVP and booked the Triumph sailing on Mar 1 for the Eastern Caribbean.
I love this woman! She told me this morning that I am the water monster!

Wow, what a wonderful gift! That should help you get through the remaining treatments. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's called a cruise!

Absolutely the best thing you can do to get back to normal. I had open heart (triple bypass) and cruised less than three weeks after the surgery. When I told my surgeon I was going to cruise, and when, he looked at me like I was nuts. He said "where are you cruising to?" I replied that I didn't know, because I almost never leave the ship anyway,,,I just sit by the pool, get waited on hand and foot, and enjoy the beautiful ladies in their bikinis! He smiled, and said I had his blessing to take the trip. I did sail, and I did enjoy the cruise very, very much. GREAT way to get back to normal after all the poking, and prodding they do to you in the hospital.

I say that is good news. You will probably feel better now that you have a cruise booked!

Is the Triumph still going to be on the HMC, St. Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk route then? If it is you will LOVE HMC, if you like to sit back and just watch the ladies in bikinis, you will like HMC. I urge you to go ashore for that day at the beach--but book an excursion or be at the doors waiting for a low tender number so you can go ashore ASAP. The beach is beauiful, the water perfect, and the sand like powdered sugar!!!!

HMC, St Thomas, San Juan, and Nassau. We were at HMC during our cruise in April of this year and loved the place. That is way we pick this cruise.

Good Luck with your treatments. They do make you tired for sure.
Now with having something like a cruise to look forward too that
should help make the time go faster and to keep you thinking about
how nice the cruise will be.
What a wonderful wife you have.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Good luck

have a great time on your up coming cruise.
Sammy

I know many survivors, including myself (26 years), so you can do it.

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. My soul mate takes very good care of me. I will be cancer free in a couple of months and the cruise is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Your wife sounds like a wonderful woman. Keep strong and you'll get through your treatment.

Take care,

Best of luck to you and to ALL you survivors out there. You don't realize at times that there is someone always having more troubles than you are. My heart and prayers go out to you - and to all of you. May this cruise be the light at the end of your tunnel for a long healthy life!

Default Triumph cruise

Good luck with the rest of your treatment. My husband is a prostate cancer survivor. We just came back from the Triumph on Saturday. You will love this cruise. All the staff were so friendly. On the Triumph we did the Walk for the Cure for breast cancer - a one mile walk around the track. We did it for all the cancer survivors out there. Enjoy your cruise!

You are definitely in our prayers and I look forward to reading your review when you get back in March. I was recently diagnosed with endometrial cancer and had 2 surgeries back to back, the second being a total hysterectomy. By the time we sail in Dec. it will have been 8 weeks since surgery so I am now working on building up my stamina instead of laying around. (I don't recommend this as I also popped some stitches doing "too much".) I can't wait for the relaxation to begin!!!! So, for everyone sailing with us - please pardon my pudgy tummy in my bikini.....I'm on vacation.

I see you are on the same ship as we will be on in Mar. Which route are you doing?

We're doing E. Caribbean. (San Juan, Grand Turk, St. Thomas). I'll write a review when we get back. Anything in particular you want to know - let me know.
