First-timer here....I've heard several people talking about packing lunch from the ship for excursions. Do you do this with room service food? Is part of the reason because food is unsafe off the ship? What do you need? Someone mentioned zip-loc bags. Do you need to pack a cooler of some type too? Are there things on the room service menu that don't need to stay cold?
you'll hear time and again shipwide annoucements that it is against local regulations to take any kind of food or vegetables/fruits ashore from the ship. the only exceptions may be sealed products (and that does NOT mean foodstuff sealed in a ziplock bag!!).
and by the way, the same exact laws apply here in USA
Most of the excursions provide lunch if you are going to be gone for the day. Other wise for the most part you can buy lunch while you are out or
if close enough you can go back to the ship have lunch and then take off
on the island again.
Dont think you can take any thing off the ship in the food line just like
a bottle of water or pop.
Trying different foods on the island is always fun.
Welcome aboard and have a great cruise..
