Default Struck Gold on Glacier Bay!

Today we put our final payment down for our cruise May 14 on Carnival Spirit for the Glacier Bay itinerary and our Carnival PVP had some good news for us. She told me that she had found another lower promotion going on and so she lowered our fares again. The total we've saved is exactly $250 each for the two of us traveling ! Thats a lot of extra fun money . Can't wait for our 8G Aft Balcony!!

Anyone else have similar experiences where your PVP or Travel Agent has saved you money like that on your cruise??

My PVP has given us a lower fare several times. We just call him every couple of months and check and see if he can lower them. He lowered our far 3 times on out April cruise on the Victory. Total savings about $250pp

Welcome!!! WE have been booked on this cruise for over a year and it seemed like it would never get here. Now I am actually starting to put clothes we thought we wouldn't need anymore in suitcases ( although the cold front that came through Florida today changed my plans)

We are so excited it is going to be the best cruise. We are traveling with a few family members. It has been a rough year for us as my father passed away in November and we will have this cruise to be together and remember him. Also I think my son is going to propose to his girlfriend on the cruise. He bought the ring the other day. Shhh.... Don't tell her ... it is a surprise. It will be a very special cruise for all of us and I can't wait!!

We have a good roll call on anothe site but haven't been able to find anything here. The MOB on this board are difficult because it is not divided up by ship and I have trouble looking through all of them to find ours. Enjoy your cruise!! Cindy

Cindy, I'm glad to hear some fellow CruiseMates will be joining me. I'm counting down the days slowly getting every little detail planned . Hope you enjoy! Where abouts on the ship are you? We're Verandah (deck 7) aft.

We are still on a inside guarantee but my mom and my brother and his wife both have a wrap around balcony on either side of the ship. That is where we will be alot.

My Mom and son are in 7298 so they will be really close. My brother has a wrap balcony on main deck I think.

I think we have about everything planned. We are taking the glacier float trip in Juneau, we rented cars to drive to carcross in Skagway and in Ketchikan part of the family is doing the Zipline and the rest of us will be going with my Mom on the duck tour.

I am getting really excited and hope the days start to fly by!! Cindy

So what if I booked through a travel agent, which I did, and the price goes down, will they let me know or can I call Carnival or do I have to call them?

You will need to call your TA. Carnival will not deal with you if you have a TA. It can be frustrating when you find a price drop and can't get hold of your TA and the price goes back up. Also some TA's will not honor a price decrease after final payment. They all have different rules. We did manage to get a decrease in our kids cabin and an upgrade for ours through our TA. Good Luck. The problem is that TA's work on commission based on how much your cruise fare is. The lower the fare, the less commission. My PVP works on flat commission so it doesn't take away from her pay if she lowers my price. We both win really

Mosel, sounds like a nice cabin that your mom and son have, any chance they'd trade? yeah now I'm getting greedy, aft balcony is good enough!

That's funny because we found out that one of the people we've been talking to on the cc role call had been on a waiting list for my brother's cabin for a while. He has the whole row of aft cabins on main and wanted the wrap. Once he realized we had it he gave up the waitlist. We told him if he wanted to pay to upgrade my brother to a cat 12 we would be happy to give him the wrap. He decided to stay in the balcony. Cindy
