chakkanab does it, but dont book thru the ship, book thru the park. Your will save a ton of money. Its only a 10 minute cab ride for 10 bucks and you can stay as long as you like in the park afterward. Do the swim not the thing where you just pet the dolphin, there is a difference. Go to thier website. The park also has great snorkling which i believe is included in the price, not to mention its just a lovely place to sit under a thatched umbrella and sip a mojito

Also be prepared to be offered a CD of your swim, at a high price too. You may think its worth it, actually a fairly well done CD with music etc. Its totally up to you and they don't push it. Its a great expierence and although its very expensive, its one of those once in a lifetime things.

Diffently do the swim I wish we did now. The wife and I only done the encounter, and it was awesome too
The park is nice, clean,and well kept up. Well worth the price.

I noticed your sailing on the Valor. Great choice on ships. She's a huge ship, with awesome service, and crew. Between the ship and the park, your going to be hooked for life on cruises.

Happy Sailing to all;
david

Yes, do the swim/snorkle!!!! I did it, but I booked it on the ship. The park is large and you'd get around 30 minutes of spare time to wander around the park after the swim.

Another hint, if you don't have a digital camera, and want one get a waterproof camera because it comes in handy when doing the dolphin swim or going in the water anywhere!!! (BTW Olypus has 770SW, 790SW and a new 8MP 850SW shock/water/freeze/crushproof camera--I have the 770, which is good to 33 feet not the 10 feet the others are good for).

Donna - I love cruises22 -
This is real neat. :o I watched this on the travel channel not long ago. You actually get to work with the trainers,( like on the job training ) and do all the commands and actually reward (feed) the dolphins, for there good job, and actually interact with them.

I want the wife and I to do this.

Happy Cruising to all ;

I'll try to remember to get back to you on that. I booked the same thing and will experience it March 17, 2008. I booked through the Carnival. Can anyone tell me how much that CD was? Can you buy it with a credit card?

Thanks!

I first thought it was @ the park in Cozumel. But ,On the travel channel special,, It was @ Discovery cove. www.discoverycove.com Rather pricey

But in Cozumel, @ the park, you can choose to swim or do the encounter.

Happy Cruising to all ;

The dolphinaris has a website. www.dolphinaris.com. But I can't find any mention of it on any cozumel websites.

My sister did the swim in Cancun and she told me that it was the best thing she has ever done. I did not do it last time because I did not want to go by myself as no one in our group wanted to do it. I am looking into it for my Sept trip.

Went to the Cozumel Dolphin Swim last Monday at Dolphinaris. I think it was $169. It was incredible (if you've never done it before). I traveled alone and bought 2 pictures (on a CD) and the video (on CD/DVD). All together, $80.00. You don't have to buy any pics/cds and you can buy less or more pics depending how much you want to spend. They don't let you take any cameras at all into the 'pool', but someone traveling with you can go and just take pics at an expensive ticket. Traveling alone, I had no choice so I bought the package and was completely impressed with the photos!!! You must wash all sunscreen off you before entering the pool, and you can have no jewelry, clothing, cameras, while entering the pool. It confuses the dolphins. They think food? I put my sunscreen on at the ship, thinking some will get absorbed. It worked. They make you wait in lines for long periods. It appears they can't handle all the visitors at once, so be prepared for that. This excursion was booked 3 weeks before my cruise. I did it online at carnival.com and am glad I did. It was sold out by the time I got on the ship. Many people were upset it wasn't offered because it was full. If you have you're heart on any excursion, please don't wait!!! Again, if you've never done it before....do it, it was great!
