Default Carnival Conquest Info Needed

I will be leaving out of Galveston on the Conquest this Sunday. The room I have a stateroom balcony on the Empress Deck 7, but I'm terribly disappointed that it is by an elevator. My question is for anyone who stayed by an elevator...does the noise levels get out of hand. Any other advice would be appreciated since this is my first cruise ever. Thanks in advance.

We were close to the elevator and it wasn't noisy. The elevators open toward each other. There were only two inside cabins that faced the area, so they may have had noise, but we didn't. We were on Verandah deck.

The elevators are behind walls. Iv never heard anything but the dining of the floors faintly and a drunk once.

You wouldnt hear the elevator go up and down, the wall will muffle the noise.

Default Thanks & keep it coming

Thanks for the information. I think I was more concerned with the congregating while waiting for the elevator to come pick you up. I appreciate the responses. As far as Montego Bay and Dunn's River Falls...do most people book excusions through the cruise are if you can pass along a good private company thanks in advance.

When we were on the Conquest two years ago, it sounds like we had a similar cabin as you. Empress deck, balcony, very close to the elevator. The next time I pick my own cabin, I'll pick that exact area again. We never heard elevator noise. There is a large area for people to congregate away from your cabin door.
Montego Bay (Jamaica) is one of those ports that I feel safer sticking with the Carnival excursions. Being a first time cruiser, I'd recommend you stay with Carnival. Venturing out on your own in Grand Cayman and Cozumel is a much better. Just my opinion.

I always TRY to book near an elevator, since walking down a long hallway, after a long evening, is a pain:) Noise has never been an issue for us.

Default Cool Runnings

Thank you guys for the information. I was already nervous being a first timer and expecially since I get motion sickness in cars & planes and just about anything that moves. I did go to my doctor to get the prescribed Sco-patch (). You are right, I think it is better to stay with the Carnival excursion for Jamaica. If there is anyone who will be taking the Conquest for 7 days out of Jamaica, hit me up. I love this board

I had Suite 7269 which was on the Starboard side and right behind the bank of three elevators. The noise we heard was when the elevator stopped on Deck 7 and the live entertainment on Lobby deck did carry up through the atrium. You can hear the music, but it didn't bother me much. It is better to be close to the central elevator bank of 10 elevators than near one that has only four elevators!!!!! I love the glass elevators and only take the other elevators if the glass ones are not available!!!...I am on holidaze, I can wait!!!

I have actually been in that room and it was perfect. Have a great cruise, on a great ship.
