Default question about cabin location on Freeedom

We recently sailed RCCL Sovereign of the Seas. We had a grand suite located under the Windjammer Cafe and near the service elevators. The noises/banging were very annoying, especially at night.

We are thinking of booking a cruise on the Carnival Freedom to the Western Caribbean. We were looking to book two cabins on either the upper deck (cat. 8A) or the verandah deck (cat. 8C). The upper deck is above the lounges/bars. The verandah deck is below the Freedom Restaurant buffet. Does anyone know the noise level heard in these cabins? It's not a big problem and I know there won't be total silence but the noise on the Sovereign was too loud.

nolou525.....If you book a room on the Upper Deck, regardless of where your stateroom is located, you will be directly above the Promenade Deck with the noisy show lounge, casino, sports bar, dining rooms, disco, karaoke, late night entertainment venues, etc.

If you book a room on the Verandah Deck, the deck below you is the Empress which contains all staterooms, however, the deck above you is the Lido Deck where almost 3/4 of this deck is dedicated to all the late night parties, buffet restaurant, pools, live music, the outdoor theater, etc. If you choose the Verandah Deck, I would pick a stateroom way forward under the few staterooms that are located on the Lido Deck, that way you would have staterooms above and below you.

We always book a stateroom on the Lido Deck as far forward as possible and never hear any noises and because there are so few rooms, there is not a lot of foot traffic. It's great walking out to the buffet restaurant for a quick cup of coffee or late night ice cream cone.

We did the Empress Deck on her, a balcony at the rear, and it was great!

Nolou525 I was on verandah deck cabin 8412 for a 14 day cruise. I had no problems with noise. I wish I was still on on board. If you like seafood hear up to the fish and chip and get Bouillabaisse. It's a seafood soup so tasty.
