Default Perks to Cat 12?

Are there any perks to a category 12 suite? Family of 5 considering it - is it worth $500 extra?

Besides it being larger & having a larger balcony... they only other perk I know of... Is VIP status, which means you don't have to wait in the long line when embarking and disembarking....

We had a cat 11 last yr and after the wedding party, we were like the second ones on the ship...
Also, when registaring, we went to a seperate line, and we walked right up and done in as much time as it took to get our info... 8) 8) very cool.
I think they have robes in the cabin too, but they really didn't fit us.

I had a Cat 11 on the Conquest. We had priority boarding. We got to the port at 10:45 ish and once we walked the LONG distance to get to the embarkation area we were take to a separate line at security for VIP's and once we cound the office we were done and ready in under 10 minutes. We then had to walk from one end of the terminal building all the way to the furthest end (where we got dropped off) and were told that it would be a 15-20 minutes as the ship was not ready yet, this was 11:15am. There was a large wedding party that was having their reception on the ship, thus, they got to get on the ship first so they could all be checked in first. Less than ten minutes later we were on told we could board. Sadly, the non-VIP's were all getting up and trying to rush the line--the Carnival reps made sure the 30 or so of us waiting VIP's got on first!

It's nice being on the ship before the masses storm on.....Normally I would be on of the masses, but that cruise was oh so nice to be special!

We already have 2 cabins - we knew how crowded we would be in a regular cabin. We're just considering the suite - and wondering is it worth the extra bucks. 2 cabins would be nice, but so would a balcony!

2 rooms equals more privacy, sometimes those suites arent that much bigger, however, balconys rock the hardest! It would probably be worth it to get the balcony alone

my son has begged us to let him sleep on his balcony next January. I said no, but hubby said sure, besides he thinks 1hr into it he'll want to come in lol

Okay, I loved my balcony, but I'm not quite ready to consider sleeping on it.

We booked a Cat 12 on the Conquest when we sailed and LOVED it! BUT there was only 4 of us.

I think with 5, two cabins might be your answer. Why not book 2 cabins with balconies that could connect?

Many of them open and make one large balcony. We did this on the Spirit when we sailed 3 yrs ago with my mom. It was so nice not having the kids go out of the room to get to her room!!! We had 2 Cat 11 booked on that cruise.

Also having a balcony offers more privacy/quiet time if someone needs it. Just an easy escape

We had 5 people on one of our cruises and we booked 2 cabins. We had the kids in the interior room and we had the balcony room directly across from them. If you opened both doors we could look straight into each others rooms. The kids got to come out on the balcony while we were leaving and arriving at the ports and we had our privacy.
