Default Onboard coupon book

What is offered in the coupon books? Are they just an enticement to booking with a particular website?

They're not that great a deal and only certain travel agents have them as an enticement to book through that agency. I've booked 13 cruises on Carnival and never gotten one. Here's what the coupons are for:

1. Pre-Order 4 bottles of wine and receive the 5th bottle free.
2. Receive 15% discount on a set of etched Flute Glasses with the purchase of any sparkling wine.
3. Buy one bottle of wine and receive 10% off a 2nd bottle.
4. Receive a 10% discount on any memory box from the formalities shop.
5. Receive a complimentary plate of Chocolate Delights with the purchase of a $45 or higher bottle of champagne for stateroom delivery.
6. Purchase a smoothie and receive a 2nd smoothie free.
7. Receive a free Carnival "hurricane" souvenir glass with the purchase of any frozen drink.
8. Receive an Ultra Premium "Ketel One" Martini for the price of a regular martini.
9. Recieve a complimentary $5 "Free-Play" chip.
10. Purchase any entry into any Ocean Players Club tournament and receive a 2nd tournament entry FREE.
11. Receive a Grande Coffee for the price of a tall coffee.
12. Recieve 15% discount towards the purhcase of a "Towel Creations with Freddy" book.
13. Receieve 20% off Le Therapie Hydralift Facial or Elemis Stone Therapy while ship is in port.
14. Choose either lonithermie or Aromaspa Ocean Wrap for $99 while ship is in port.
15. Print your own film or media card on board and receive a FREE 2nd set of prints.
15. Receive 10 minutes FREE with purchase of time plan #1 or 5 minutes FREE with purchase time plan #2.
16. Purchase any photo and receive a FREE 5x7 photo of the ship or ship's interior.

Serveral years ago we booked a cruise on Princess through Expedia, we received a coupon book for a free drink in the lounge, discount in the shops onboard, discount on shore excursion, a bottle of wine at dinner, i think.

Not a make it or break it for booking a cruise.

looking forward to our upcoming cruise

those are horrible coupons lol. I love the free plastic carnival glass with a frozen drink...hehehee

The only ones i'd use is the free 5x7 (cuz umm its free) and the 5 oollar chip, and the free tournament entry.

all told the coupons would be worth about 25.00 (cuz i dont really care to have a pic of the ships interior or exterior, i take my own)

now a coupon book for buy one get one free drinks at the bar (atleast 3), or half price spa's would be better...that and add half price on an excursion (say under 100) that would entice me but i'd still go by price.

I've got alot of the "foo foo" glasses so I'd only use the casino ones myself

We've received the coupon books a couple of times, and almost NEVER used any of the coupons. In fact, I left the books in the cabin (hidden) for someone else to find, and perhaps use. (I think the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) did use the casino coupon.)

I love to get a bargain and a good deal. Too bad those aren't very good deals.

When Carnival offers the above listed couplon book, they really make a big deal about it... not quite sure why... you usually end up shelling out $$ you might not otherwise spend.

Before I 'knew better' , I spent an hour on the phone with Carnival fighting for the coupon book for one of my passengers... they initially said they would send it to me and then said it was not offered with the discounted fare I booked... They had made SUCH a big deal about the book, I really thought it was going to be a big deal... how dumb did I feel when I saw what was offered in the ellusive book ... Oh well... live and learn... now I show passengers a copy of the coupons and give them the option to book at the rate offering the book or (if available) a lower special... guess which one they pick!
