My wife found out about this just before our cruise on the Liberty in June from a co-worker in the UK. You will receive anywhere from a $50 to a $250 OBC (depending on the length of your cruise) if you own a minimum of 100 shares and is good not only on Carnival but any Princess, Holland America, Seabourn, Cunard, ect as well. See the Carnival website for detail, just go to investor relations --> sharehold benefits. Just last week they declared a dividend of $.40/share for stock holders as of 8/22 and is payalbe on 9/12.
You do have to contact them prior to your departure and it will be posted as an OBC within a day or two. It will actually show up on your e-documents that you print.

Royal Caribbean has a similar program.

On our cruise they also had where if you gave a deposit of $100 for a future cruise you would receive a $100 OBC for that future cruise as well. When I asked if it could be combined with the shareholder benefits the people on board did not know. But when I returned, I contacted my cruise consultant and he indicated I could use both since they are not related.

So on your next cruise when you hear that person going around yelling "driinks, driinks". Drink up, I would appreciate it.

Sounds like a wise investment for cruisers. So 100 shares at the current rate would be 3500 dollars. It would pay for itself in 35 cruises. The economy being what it is right now you can by at a reasonably low rate. When the economy rebounds you could stand to make a lot more.
