Default 27 hours until I leave and wondering...

I leave for Miami in 27 hours (for a 12:20am flight) and so far there is no altering for the Liberty sailing for Saturday...I am sooo excited, but yet I am wondering where we will since we will be in the path of Ike. I know Carnival and the captain will keep us safe, but I would like to them to announce if it will stay the same or we are going a different direction!!!!!

I sure hope the seas are not rough and all goes well..last thing I want is a rough ride!!!

Altho I have not checked at CCL home page, below is what has been put out on Johns Blog, in case you are not a frequent reader....due to some iten changes, depending on the ship/change, they have made offers of:

"receive a 25% -50% refund of the cruise fare paid. In addition, guests will receive a 25% - 50% discount of a future Carnival Cruise
This discount applies to the cruise fare only. Please understand this offer is non-transferable.
If guests elect to cancel the cruise, we ask that guests contact us right away to cancel the booking. Guests will receive a full refund and refunds will be processed in less than two weeks. "

The current sailing had the following iten:

Carnival Liberty Sat., 8/30 departure from Miami: The ship will visit the ports of call in reverse order Ocho Rios (Mon), Grand Cayman (Tue), Cozumel (Thur)

CARNIVAL LIBERTY – 8/30/08 DEPARTURE (Seven-day cruise from Miami)
Revised Itinerary Original Itinerary
8/30 – Miami 8/30 – Miami
8/31 – At Sea 8/31 – At Sea
9/01 – Ocho Rios (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) 9/01 – Cozumel (8 a.m. – 10 p.m.)
9/02 – Grand Cayman (8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) 9/02 – At Sea
9/03 – At Sea 9/03 – Grand Cayman (7:30 am. - 4:30 p.m.)
9/04 – Cozumel (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) 9/04 – Ocho Rios (8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
9/05 – At Sea 9/05 – At Sea
9/06 – Miami 9/06 – Miami

Then there is this:

And here is an example of the letters we will distribute to our guests
August 30, 2008
Dear Carnival Guest:
We want to thank you for choosing Carnival for your vacation. We have an exciting cruise planned for you aboard the Carnival Liberty. We also want to provide you with some information about our itinerary for this cruise.
There is Hurricane Gustav, which is brewing in the Western Caribbean… Due to Gustav’s forecasted track, we will reverse the order of the ports of call. We will, therefore, call on Ocho Rios on Monday (arrive 9:00 AM; depart 5:00 PM); Grand Cayman on Tuesday (arrive 8:00 AM; depart 4:30 PM) and Cozumel on Thursday (arrive 8:00 AM; depart 10:00 PM).
We are sorry for having to reverse the itinerary for this cruise; however, these changes enable us to navigate the ship in the safest and most comfortable conditions. Rest assured, my number one priority is the safety of our guests and crew.
Our shore excursions staff will be able to assist you with any shore excursion questions.
Most importantly, we are looking forward to having you sail with us this cruise. The Captain, officers, staff and crew are dedicated to providing you with a great cruise vacation.
Sincerely,
Ruben Rodriguez

Yes, I've been at their site a few times today and several times yesterday. No annouocement has been made about changes, yet. It could happen after I leave, so I won't know until I get to Miami tomorrow afternoon. I have a suspicion that they might only cancel Half Moon Cay or reverse our order and taking us to St. Thomas and Puerto Rico first and then hit HMC and Grand Turk at the end....

As for the credit for the alteration of routes, it is very generous for them to do it, and if it happens I will accept it. I do know I am 100% to blame for booking the sailing for this time, so the peace offereing is to satisfy those that don't understand that t isn't Carnival's fault for the bad weather and choice of cruising date.....

East or West, I don't care, I plan on having a great time!!!!!!
