Default Location of dock in Venice?

We will be on Liberty next year and wonder just where in Venice the ship will dock in relation to St.Marks. Is this walkable?

No, this is a link to information about Venice's cruise ship terminal. http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/...e-terminal.htm
You can take a water bus (Vaporetto) to St. Marks. Here is a link to the public transit website. http://www.actv.it/english/navigazio...iffe_vaporetto
They have different ACTV tourist passes for unlimited waterbus access.
14,00 € - 12-HOUR TRAVELCARD
16,00 € - 24-HOUR TRAVELCARD
21,00 € - 36-HOUR TRAVELCARD
26,00 € - 48-HOUR TRAVELCARD
31,00 € - 72-HOUR TRAVELCARD
This site has maps of the different waterbus routes. http://www.venice-rentals.com/info/routes.html
If you will be staying in Venice you may want to buy a Orange Venice Card. This gives you access to the Vaporetto and museum passes it includes Dogg Palace in St. Marks.

We also stayed at a great budget hotel near the train station. It's called La Locanda di Orsaria it does not have an elevator so you may want to book the ground floor. http://www.locandaorsaria.com/en/home.php It's very close to the Ferrovia stop.

The Liberty is big so you will probably be here. http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/...-marittima.htm According to these articles your waterbus stop is Piazzale Roma. Just a warning pack light it's hard to get on and off the waterbus with a lot of bags. Also people in Italy don't wait in lines. You will need to push your way on the water bus. It's funny because once they are on board the gentlemen will give up thier seats to the elderly.

Kat...so you "sort of liked my city" heh so when is your husband taking you back ..next time you should see it as a native instead of a cruise passenger tourist...in exchange for paying my passage and expensives I can be your tour guide 8) 8)

you can do the CM group cruise in the reverse direction next spring which would be a nice Christmas present for you

Venice is one of my favorite European cities too. Better have another gelato for me as well. Sure wish we could join you, but maybe next time.

Our ship never docked in Venice we took the train from Rome to Venice and stayed a couple of days. I would have loved to stay longer. We had an orange Venice Card and took the waterbuses everywhere. Including the little mask shop where Csis and I picked up a couple of masks. You know the place. http://www.tragicomica.it/ I liked going there because you had to walk in the back areas away from the "tourist" places and the mask shop was amazing. All the masks are made in the traditional way. I would love to back to Venice I would need a gelato and a cappuccino and a nice place to sit and people watch.

I like the Tiramisu or the Stracciatella gelato. I tend to over reseach everything in fact this is a link about different gelato flavors in Venice. http://www.italylogue.com/food-drink...s-decoded.html
