Default CruiseCompete.com

Has anyone ever used this website to book a cruise? Better yet, will Carnival price match the lowest quote offered by them?

I have been a member of cruise compete since Aug.2005 . I use it on every booking, to get the best price.
Once I have my lowest price on the Cat. and type of cabin, location of cabin, I want, I then call Carnival and compare. Sometimes the little perks of a TA will be cheaper. Such as free prepaid Gratuities, travel insurance, and ect. It just depends on what ship, date of sailing, and ect.

On our May cruise on the Legend, Carnival matched my best price on Cruise Compete, and placed us one deck higher, on the Verenda Deck. Still midship, balcony room, just one deck higher. I booked with Carnival.

Wishing you smooth seas and sunny skies ;

Carnival will always match the price. Actually, the cruise lines won't let anyone advertise a lower price then is on Carnival's site. A T.A. may give back something in exchange for part of their commission, but they can't advertise it.

Keep checking daily to see if the price goes down. If it does, call carnival and they will credit you back or give you ship board credit and they will do it for as many times as the rate goes down. So far, it has gone down twice on my cabin.

This is why I use carnival directly, it's much quicker and easier to get a credit.

Default Yes, I have used Cruise Compete

I had 2 cabins (Jr. Ste and an inside) booked directly w/RCI. I then went to Cruise Compete to see if anyone offered a better price. Of those who responded, I then emailed them directly and told them what I had, and how much I paid. I let them know that I was interested in transferring the bookings to a TA who would offer OBC, or other perks. I am HAPPY to say that I transferred the booking and got $475. OBC for the Jr. Ste, and $225 OBC for the inside cabin!

Carnival will match the lowest ADVERTISED price you find which can't be lower than what is on their website.

If CCL is charging $900 for an 8A and a TA kicks back $50 in commission to make your final payment $850.00 Carnival will not match that.

I used them.

I put in for a quote for three on a specific sailing.

When I got all the bids, I called the one that had the lowest one. When they tried to proceed, they started backpeddling, stating that they must have quoted a special that had been withdrawn. They were also coming up with every other excuse in the book.

I kept pushing, and it REALLY turned out they made a mistake and quoted for 2, not three.

I contacted the president of Cruisecompete, and he sided with the TA.

I took my business elsewhere.

Default Cruise Compete

Carnival does not price match, however other companies like Vacations to Go Super Cruises etc. gladly match the price.
