Default Liberty

How does the carnival ship Liberty rank compared with the other carnival cruise ships. I have been on Carnival but wanted to sail a newer ship. I am booked on Liberty Feb.7 09. I have chose to go with a balcony(first time for this) but I am letting carnival assign my room.
I would just like to see how others liked the Liberty compared to other ships they have sailed on.
Thanks,
Mike

I would like to know what others think about the Liberty, too. We are sailing on November 29 and are also trying a veranda for the first time. Our last cruise (first time) was on the HAL Veendam, and we had an ocean view cabin.

My wife and I sailed the Liberty in June of this year (eastern Caribbean), she wanted to be on an island for her birthday. Of the three previous Carnival cruises (Miracle, Fantacy, & and Destiny) this was by far the best one. The decor was not your typical "gitzy/over the top" type decor as on so many other Carnival ships, actually it was quite nice and the food was the best we've had on any of our previous cruises (8). Our balcony cabin was just below the Lido deck (mid-ship) and you could hear them moving the deck chairs at 2:00 am but not to worry. The other thing was that we thought the balcony itself was small campared to other ships.

Have a great cruise.

Liberty is fantastic. I have no complaints about it... except that they can't cook a steak. But in the grand scheme of things you will have a wonderful vacation!

They had to push me off the ship. I didn't want to go. I wanted to take the CD and Alex the maitre'd with me to judst to look at, alas, I couldn't squeeze them in my suitcase (which was as full as it could get).

I've been on Victory, Triumph, Conquest, and now the Liberty. I can safely say that the decor on the Liberty was much nicer than on the Conquest. I Loved it. I did think the mural on the Conquest was much nicer (the one with all the bits of paintings opposite the glass elevators). I had Cabin 9294--best cabin so far! Less than five seconds and you are on at the sliding glass doors of Lido deck!!!!! Seaside theater is wonderful to sit out there and watch a movie later at night...

It is a good choice, and yes, it is only a three-year-old ship....

Well, I'll be on Liberty in just a few days, and 2 years ago we were on Valor. Loved Valor, and from what I understand, Liberty is the same ship as Valor, with just different decor. Looking forward to Liberty on Saturday!!!

Yeah, the Liberty and the Valor are the same just with a different decor or central idea.

We really loved the Carnival Liberty and I'd have to rate it #1 of all the Carnival ships I have sailed on so far (Imagination, Fascination, Victory, Triumph, Pride, Glory, Freedom, Valor). The food was a notch better than on other ships, the service in the dining room was aweseome and our room steward was the best, in fact, all the Carnival staff I came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. We sailed on the Liberty twice and had a great experience both times. We watched a couple of movies and concerts on the outdoor movie screen. Hope you enjoy the ship as much as we did.
