i heard that carnival will be giving onboard credits to all 2009 cruises if oil stays below $70 per barrel. The credit will equal $140 per couple on a 7 day cruise

I duuno, that sounds kind of high, 2 weeks ago we only received $25.00 per person on a 4 day cruise.

yup, the rebate is whatever you paid in fuel fees...some pay more or less depending on when you booked...

On 10- 13-08 I booked for 3-people in 2 cabins for 7 days on the Glory sailing 01-10-09. The final payment was made on 11-06-08.
The cost included $ 63.00 per person fuel charges or a total of $ 189.00
The fuel supplement was removed sometime back and we had an onboard credit for the amount of the fuel charges, or $ 189.00
The amount was so much per day per passenger so therefore would vary for cruises of different lengths, would it not ?

They aren't giving anything. They are refunding the fuel supplement that you paid. If you didn't pay a fuel supplement you won't receive anything.
