We leave on Saturday on the Freedom for 8 nights. Are there 2 formal nights?
My husband has a tux and I got a great cocktail dress at Ross. My question is about the kids. Last time we borrowed a tux for my son and my daughter had a flower girl dress. They have both grown and can't wear those now. Is it alright if my son wears dark dress pants, white shirt and tie? My daughter has a very nice Sunday dress. Do you think this will be okay? They won't be quite as dressed up as my husband and myself, but they will look nice. BTW the kids are 12 and 10.

Yes, there are two elegant nights on Freedom on a 8 day cruise. We took a 14 day cruise and there were only two elegant nights. So I think Carnival does a max if 2 elegant nights.
I agree with Brad813 the kids will look great and blend in fine on elegant night. Don't worry and have a great cruise, the Freedom is a fun ship. I love the fish and chips on deck 10.

We just sailed that cruise on Dec. 3 - Your formal nights will be Sunday and Friday. I would guess that on our particular cruise there were less than 5% of men in tuxes. Women were in everything from cocktail dresses to pant suits. Your kids will be fine. Our 10 year old just wore the same dressy dresses she wears to events at home. Have fun!
I have sailed on the "freedom" twice,Had a great time on both,The formal nights are not necessarily tuxes or dressy for kids< I have seen everything except shorts and jeans in the dining room on formal night. I don't wear a tie or jacket anymore. My attire is based on what I have room in the suitcases for.
