Default help with Cozumel

I will be leaving next week and I'm so excited!!! We are going to Cozumel. I've been there before on a cruise and had booked an excursion to the Dolphin swim. This trip though, I don't want to book an excursion, I'd like to do something within walking distance of the ship. Does anyone know if there's things to do. last trip I went to Carlos and Charlies and it seems that was right at the port but I can't remember.

There are, I think, three different piers where you might be tied up, so it's hard to say what is right off the end of your pier. Having said that, you're right, Carlos & Charlies is very close to two of those piers, and not really a long way from the third. The "city" shopping area is not far from any of the three. I think all of the three have a big building at the end of it's pier with shops and perhaps a spot to have a spot to drink. It's a short cab ride to the main shopping area from the two, more distant piers. Have a GREAT time.

The taxi to town is about 6 bucks, but I think there is plenty of shopping and drinking at each of the piers. I don't think there are any walkable beaches

Punta Langosta is the pier that has CarlosMCharlies at the end.
No taxi needed to downtown....HOWEVER, unless there are a lot of Carnival ships in port that day....you won't dock there.

International Pier is RCCL that Carnival parks at some times.

Puerto Maya is Carnival's pier that you will probably be parking at.

The good news is that if you dock at Carnival's pier....RCCL's pier is right next door and you can walk over to Senor Frog 1/2 for a drink.

And of course, there is plenty of shopping at both piers.

Sadly, the "walkable" beachs are 10-12 kilometers from the port, so a taxi is required.

Another possible suggestion is hiring a driver for the day.

Gerry speaks great English and will bring an ice chest if you want to stop and buy ice, soda and beer at the local grocery.

He charges $95.00 for 3 hours and YOU decide where you want to go.

I would suggest a trip over to the East side (Primitive)....you can't swim there because the currents are to dangerous but it is really pretty. It has some porous rock where the surf shoots up through the rock.

We did a 3 hour bar hop....walking along the beach...etc.

He does not require a Credit Card for the reservation. He picks you up at the pier. ( But he is not allowed to hold up a sign. ) You just pay him cash at the end of the tour.

cozumeltaxi@hotmail.com is where you make a reservation.

If you decide to book him, email me at musicalcruiser@hotmail.com and I will send you a picture of him...so that you will know who you are looking for once you get off the ship.
