Default maybe silly question...but

DH and I will be on Conquest Eastern Carribbean Trip in October...will be our second cruise on her...We are planning to go to the Point one night, my ssomewhat silly question is....if we go on the first night, or the second night, will it make the rest of the main dining room seem less appealing? Everyone brags so much about the supper club! Will I suffer withdrawal pains? lol

The supper club is like a higher end place you might go to back home, but its nothing spectacular.

We don't think it changes our enjoyment of the main dining room.

Hubby and I ate at the Point two weeks ago and were greatly disappointed. The service and food in the main dining room were so much better. We noticed that unless you are drinking the wine and alcohol there you are basicly given minimal service. I seriously doubt we will do the supper club on our next cruise.

When we were on the Conquest, the dr food was so good, we never wanted to dine elsewhere.

On the other hand on a HAL cruise, we wished we could..We were never able to get another reservation to the Pinnacle and we wanted to really badly

I've never been overly impressed with the supper clubs on any of the ships we've sailed, and doubt that we'll spend the money again for that "extra", unless someone else wants to do it, and we join them. I'd suggest that you give it a go, and see what you think. Don't get me wrong, it's good,,,,just not that good.

should not impact MDR experience..most go to a supper club for a special occasion or to get away from the crowd for one night

it's a nice to do, but just consider it a part of your cruising experience..IMHO the appeal of the MDR is the interaction with your fellow table guest

I agree with Venice 100%. That's why we always request a large table, and that way we enjoy the evening interaction with the others at our table. Very, very enjoyable IMO.

Thank You all for your replies. That brings up another question...We are not really drinkers, but maybe would have a glass of wine with the meal at the supper club...It is not included is it? It would go on the s&s card?

The wine is not included, so it will go on your S&S card...consider buying a bottle for the 2 of you for the week......even thought it's higher then at home, it will be cost efficient, rather then by the glass....enjoy!

I can not speak specifically about the Point, but we ate in the specialty rest on the Miracle. The food was awesome and they had a nice piano player and a dance floor which was very romantic. If you havent been, you should try once even for curiosity sake. Ill tell you this, on our last cruise (3wks ago) we did the steakhouse offering on RCCLs Liberty and it was not even close to being as good Carnivals.

when we were on the Conquest in Nov 2005 on our Smooth Jazz Cruise, we ate at the Point and the food and service were excellent

the best part of it was when the couple at the next table to us, found out we were from new orleans and did not evacuate, they treated us to a bottle of really nice wine, which made the evening even more enjoyable

I love the Conquest
