Triumph vs Conquest (same $$) which would u chose?

I am debating which cruise to chose, the Triumph or the Conquest, prices are about the same for the week I am interested in. The Triumph is 2 hours closer to me, is the extra 2 hours (and a hotel room) worth the stay on the Conquest?

My vote is for the Conquest. I love it, and Galveston.

Whatever you decide to do, I am sure you will have a great time.

:D I've cruised on both - Conquest out of New Orleans (2004 before Katrina) on my 1st cruise and Triumph out of Miami on my 2nd (2006). Both ships are the same layout with different decors. At the time I cruised service on both was similar. I think it simply comes down to which itinerary and port you prefer. I enjoyed both cruises.

i have sailed on both also. both have very special memories to me. my dad was with my family and i on both died this past december after 90 years of llife. its so important to make the most memories on any cruise you take. my preference is anything with an eastern itinerary. my dad always said "just put me on a boat and im happy"

I have sailed on both....Conquest out of New Orleans and in January on the Triumph.

The Conquest is 110,000 tons so it is a little larger than the Triumph (although the Promenade is basically identical).

Conquest has fish and chips on Lido deck 10....Triumph does not.

If you are driving in the day before, hotels may be cheaper in Galveston than New Orleans. I know the hotels in New Orleans downtown charge ridiculous parking fees.

I am a little surprised they are the same price, as Galveston usually has a higher price for their ships.

I do like the New Orleans port better for embarkation. I can't speak to debarkation because when we sailed out of Galveston...our cruise was a 3 day cruise to nowhere...so there was no Customs at the end of the cruise.

Either way, you will have a great time.
