Final Payment Question

I know that after the "final payment date" you cannot change dates on ES. I assume this doesn't mean when you make the actual payment but the last date it was due. Does anyone know when that is?

From the Carnival website:

A $50 service fee will be assessed per person for ship and/or sail date changes made prior to the final payment due date.

For most seven day cruises the final payment is due 75 days before departure.

3,4 and 5 day cruises are 60 days before departure.

Thanks, Mike. Does this mean if it's after the 75 day mark I cannot change anything or that I pay a bigger penalty? (Sorry, I've tried to look up the info myself but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.)

If you make a change after final payment it is basically a cancellation. You will be in the penalty phase. The penalty can range from forfeiting deposit to the entire cruise fare depending on how close to sailing you make the change or cancel.

This is Carnival's cancellation penalties: If you cancel this is what you will forfeit.

6, 7 & 8 day

Cruises Up to 76 days None
75 to 30 days Deposit
29 to 8 days 50% of Total Fare

7 days or less 100% of Total Fare

Basically: Make your changes at least 76 days before you sail.
