Hey Everyone,
Was hoping someone can help us out...Where is their good shopping and dining on grand cayman island? We decided not to do an exursion and see what shopping they had..
Many of the same shops you see everywhere, Diamonds international,Emeralds international, etc. There are also quite a few high end shops, not many real bargains in them. There is a Margaritaville, A Hard Rock Cafe and many lesser known dining venues. Most of these are within walking distance of the pier.

Keep in mine that Grand Cayman is very expensive. Lunch and a couple of drinks around $60.00 for two people. But if you like fresh seafood it is great. A bottle of beer is $6.00. Hurricanes is just down the road from the tender dock. Shops are very pricey too. If you are looking for a tour of the island the "Local Bus" is $3 - $5 each way around the island. It will take you to "HELL" and back. Just ask a local where you can catch the bus is and they will direct you. Have a great time. Ed
Great Information Everyone thank you...What about Seven Mile Beach? Dining and Shopping? I say shopping because we werent planning on doing an excurison and didnt want to stay on the ship during Dock..

The local bus goes to Seven Mile Beach. It is beautiful and there are restrooms and changing rooms there. I think the bus is $3.00 per person each way and a Taxi is $15 - $20 per person each way. Ed
If you are a little daring, you can head to the Paradise Restaurant about 600 or so yards to the right of the terminal to have a turtle burger. There used to be a few places in town there a few years back, but this seems to be the only place to get them now. If you had, "eat something weird or different" on a bucket list somewhere, you should be able to cross it off here. It is right before the Eden Rock Dive shop and this also has a snorkel/dice shop attached to it. Expect to pay $12-14 also. Tastes like a conch fritter and they add a jerk mayo on the side for dippng, but that is only if you want the hairs on your toes completely off. lol
Good Luck!

I wasn't very impressed with the shopping. Nothing different at the shops. Most were just tourist traps, on the expensive side, and lots of their goods were from China. Nothing that really seemed unique to the island. It might be different in other areas, we mostly just stayed around the city area next to the port.
We actually got better deals and goods at the other ports.
