Carnival Victory past cruisers

When does the Victory have its Lifeboat drill. Late night of sailing, or the next day ???

I believe it is a Coast Guard requirement to have the drill before departing the port of embarkation

When we went it was at 9:30pm, half an hour before sail away.

I dont think thats accurate. I believe it has to be conducted within the first 24 hours.

I think the rule is that the drill must be done in 24 hrs or when it leaves to a
non - U/S port. The reason I say this is we were on a Costa ship years ago.
From Fort Lauderdale a 7 day carribean cruise. At 4 p.m. we left the dock and I felt the ship moving. I turned to my wife and said why didn't we do the life boat drill? She and I just did not know and all the other passengers were asking about that first evenig. At that point we had been on over 10 cruises.
But here is what happenend. Out first Port was Key West. That is when it happened. It was aroung 9 a.m. So I guess the moral of the story is you just don't when it will happen. Ed

Last time we sailed from San Juan, the drill was the next day. One of our group signature events is the Champagne Sail-Away party from the corner balcony. On a normal afternoon departure, the party is always after the drill. We were not sure when to schedule the event until now. Thanks.

You're going to love the aft wrap. They're awesome. We had one on the Destiny and the Victory.
