Hi, first time poster here! Hopefully I'm posting this question in the right place.
I'm taking my first ever cruise on Carnival next week, leaving out of New Orleans. We have checked out the parking options and decided for convenience sake to park at the port itself. I've looked all over the port website though and don't see anything about reservations. Does anyone know if they take reservations? Or if they're needed at all? I tried to call the port but just get a machine.
I'm a little worried about showing up the day of the cruise and the port parking lot being full. Any advice is appreciated and thanks in advance!
No reservations, first come first served. If the garage is full, there is overflow parking at the "Whale" lot. It will cost the same but not be indoor. So far, we've always been able to park in the garage, but sometimes had to look for a place.
I've also seen people parked "illegally", so I guess some don't even bother looking.
When entering the garage you pay first (credit cards okay), then drive up the ramp where porters take any checked luggage, then you park and take an elevator to check-in.
