Default Shore Excursions

We are going on Carnival Magic in March and are stopping in Jamaica, Cayman Islands and Cozumel. The excursions in Jamaica seem high to us and we are going to take the taxi to a beach in Cozumel. Any suggestions for a beach in Jamaica or Cayman island. What would you do in Jamaica to just relax on a beach? Or are the beach excursions in Jamaica not worth it? How about taxi's to the beach? Which beach?

In Cayman, you can walk two blocks directly opposite the tender pier and find the library. Right next to it is the public transportation hub - you'll see all the mini-vans there. Price is $2.50 per person anywhere on the island you want to go. (A taxi is $20 each way.) Just tell them you want to get off at Calico Jack's, which is on 7-Mile Beach, and you'll have a wonderful time at a beautiful beach with a bar that has great cold beer, good food, and tables in shade to sit on.

As for Ocho Rios, couple of nice beaches to go to, but we simply like to purchase a one-day pass at an all-inclusive resort where for a small price we can have all the food we want, all the beverages you can drink (including alcohol), and all the water activities. Plus, there's no crowd!!

You can do the same thing in Cozumel to an all-inclusive or go to one of the popular beaches like Carlo's 'n Charlies Beach Resort, Mr. Sanchos, etc. Taxi is about $15 each way. Or you can simply walk from the Carnival pier over to the International pier next door and enjoy the beach right there. Not great, but nice enough and you don't have to go far.

In Grand Cayman I'd suggest doing a tour to Sting Ray City and snorkel with the sting rays. It is really a great excursion and fun for the whole family.

Depending on weather you may get tendered in from the other port so you can just hop on the transportation busses they have there and take you to where you need to go.
