Infinity

Been a lurker for some time following Infinity posts. Celebrity to-day processed our air deviation for the March 3, 2001 inaugural sailing. All confirmed to arrive in Fort Lauderdale on Feb. 28, 2001, to be ready for March 3 sailing. All appears to be on target.

I've been lurking lately as well, while so much speculation has been taking place, and spending a lot of energy trying not to get discouraged by the negative 'vibes'.

The discussion boards were very valuable for up to date info when the original delay was announced, but the 'news' some people have been posting lately was hard to read (and I don't mean because I'm not wearing my glasses, AGAIN!) Those of us waiting for the inaugural cruise certainly haven't had a chance to get bored with the long wait for our embarkation, have we?

Let's all send lots of 'positive thoughts' in the direction of the INFINITY for the next few weeks. That, along with some crossed fingers ought to do it....what do you think?

Nice to hear from more going on3/3/01. I'm with you about having positive thoughts. I've got my fingers and toes crossed too, but I'm sure all will go as planned. Got my packing lists out (Calgon has a great ones) and got my luggage out. It won't be long now. Keep thinking positive.

So glad to get good news about the Infinity. Hope to see you all there on March 3rd.

I understand that the schedule is getting tight for this ship to be on time. But at this point I really think that EVERYTHING will be done by Celebrity to make sure this ship is on time. To postpone at this point after one postponement already would not only be expensive for them, but a public relations nightmare. Maybe it is just because I so want the ship to be on time, but I think that it will be. I know with the Millenium when they had to drydock her to resolve the hull issues . . even after the drydock there were still some problems, but instead of postponing her further they took her out and had to shorten slightly the times at the ports to keep her on schedule as speed performance was somewhat minimized. I think the same thing could happen with Infinity. I would guess that they will do the three already postponed cruises (Panama Canal and then to and from Hawaii) and then access if further work needs to be done which could affect the early Alaska cruises. But at this point, those cruises have not yet been affected and would be a lot lower profile than again changing the inaugural cruise. JMHO
