Has anyone taken the bus from Boston or Providence to the New York Port? What time do they leave and get to New York? What time is the departure from the port back? How many stops do they make? We live between Boston and Providence. I have heard you can leave your car in Providence, how much does it cost for a week? Thanks for the info.

I took the amtrak from Boston to NY twice in June for 2 diferent cruises from new york harbor. Amtrak runs a 6:20 am from Boston (you could board in providence, if you chose too) and arrives in Penn Station at 10:20 am. Took a cab to the pier and wa there by 11am. Very smooth. Cab ride from Penn Station about $6 one way.
If you leave the pier by cab at the end of your cruise, they distribute #'s, get one from the dispatcher and they call them in order, very organized. Hope this info helps.

We actually took the bus from New London (it also stopped in Bridgeport)...very easy and the parking there was about half what it would have been in NY. Left New London at 11:30...at the pier by 2:30. It was just as easy coming home...and there were 4 of us and the bus was included.
