Default How is the Mercury ?

We are booked on Mercury in May, and want to know how is it ? We sailed on the Constellation last November. What is the difference ? Is it the same quality for food and service ?

We were last on the Mercury in September 2005 & will sail her again in April 2007. She is a fine ship, in fact, along with the Constellation, Mercury is one of my favorites.

Compared to the Constellation, she is an older ship. She is in need of some refurbishment, but nothing too severe. Quality of food & service is comparable. Connie is a larger ship & I believe it has more cabins with balconies. Another feature of the Connie that I enjoyed which Mercury does not have, is the specialty restaurant. All in all, Mercury is a wonderful ship & I am sure you will enjoy your cruise.

Century, Western Mediterranean

Jewel, Eastern Caribbean

Granted, Mercury is not as large or as new as the Millie class ships, but her crew and staff consistantly deliver an excellent cruise year after year.
We have always felt the staff on Mercury is the best of the Celebrity fleet.
Staff attitude and crew always seems to be excellent when we sail the Merc.
We are not speciality restaurant people so thats not an issue for us at all.

Best Wishes

We also sailed on the Mercury last year.

The Mercury is an older smaller ship in need of some TLC, BUT the ship is very clean...and the staff, crew were wonderful...and that adds a lot to the whole cruise experience. BTW: The food was excellent too.

You will have a great time!

another difference is that the T pool on Mercury is really so therapeutic as opposed to the one on Connie--nice but just not the same... .both ships are great---try them both!

The Mercury is one of my favorite ships.

You will find her staff, food and service up to the high standard set by Celebrity. Yes, she is a little older but for her age - she is in great shape. I prefer her to some of the newer ships we have sailed on including the Voyager of the Seas and Zuiderdam.

We have sailed on Celebrity ships many times. Mercury is one of smaller and older ships. Food and service is the same on all ships although there are more dining choices on the Mellennium class ships.

We have never been bothered by the motion or noise some are tallking about.
