glad to hear it as there have been many neg reviews of this older ship--we are booked on it in 08 for a very short trip so hope it will still be good. Where did you go &what were the highlights of the ship & ports?

hcat,

We went to Bermuda...we didn't do any shore excursions through the ship, we did them ourselves. We went to Crystal caves, and to the aquarium. Bermuda was beautiful and very very safe...I went fishing off of the docks @2 in the morning and never felt unsafe, as can be the case in some of the other islands.

The food was good, service was excellent, and yes, the ship does show some wear and tear, it is 16 years old but was not falling apart as some people will make you believe. The ship doesn't have all the bells and whistles as a newer ship ( no specialty restaurant, no balconies, no ice skating rink, etc) but we still had a great time...it was the smallest ship we were ever on and we would go back today if we could.

Only complaint I had was for breakfast in the buffet if you wanted pancakes there was one guy making them one at a time....I don't consider that a big complaint.

You can get a good deal on the Zenith and we are thinking of going back again next summer.

-Marc

What a nice review...It's nice to read a review that takes in to consideration the age of a ship...and you STILL has a great time!

People used to cruise without all the so-called 'bells and whistles' and felt it was a wonderful luxury. In some respects we've gotten spoiled and don't know how to relax and have fun without being 'super impressed' all the time.

Your review confirms that WE make or break our own vacations!

Default Our Zenith Experience

My wife and I took a cruise on the Zenith this past February and loved it. Good food and GREAT service! We are taking a cruise on the Millenium this coming January but would not hesitate to go back onboard the Zenith!

Default Good By Zenith

The Zenith has been traded and is going to be going to a Spanish Cruise Line owned by Royal Cribbean. In trade, the Blue Dream (Formally a Renissance Ship) will be joining the Celebrity fleet.

So, if you have a booking for 08 on the Zenith better contact Celebrity immediately and get on line for a cruise on the new Celebrity Journey. The ship is fabulous and can only accommodate 685 passangers. It would be wonderful if they just transfer your booking with no increase in rate. I understand the new ship will be taking over the Zenith's Bermuda route, but with fewer passengers.

Happy Sailing!
