Default Bringing Soda, Water, Juice on board ????

I would like to pack a small suitcase with water, soda and juice to bring on the Century next week. Does anyone know if this would be a problem?

I know there are soft drink cards or something that you can purchase. But, I would rather bring my own if Celebrity is OK with it.

Celebrity is fine with it. Just check it with your bags, let the porters deliver it to your cabin.

It is fine to bring soft drinks on board. But when I travels my bags are heavy enough for me.
I bring two quarts of water on with me and just buy a soda card

The soda cards on the ships are rather pricey - $ 5 per day per person - I guess if you want to carry the container everywhere you go on the ship
- that's your choice - we buy our Pepsi on our first port stop and keep it
for our cabin - we bought 12 large bottles (20 oz.) in Cabo for $ 1 @ and
they lasted the entire two weeks while we did the full transit of the Canal.

I just read that some of the cruise lines are not allowing this - I think
Carnival and one or two others. I think that stinks - you pay plenty for
the cruise and should be allowed to drink what you want - especially the
non-alcholic stuff - just another way to "stick it" to the captured passengers.

Celebrity is OK with it....on one trip they set one suitcase aside and wanted me to open it in front of security to make sure it was water and not vodka. But that was worth the hassle since the drinks on the ship were so outrageously expensive. The "all you can drink" card does NOT cover the cost of bottled water, juice, or bottled tea. BE CAREFUL about how many bottles you put in one suitcase! The elephants that transfer the luggage are not too gentle and if you put TOO many bottles in one suitcase it will weigh a lot....and thus have a lot of momentum when it gets thrown around by staff.

We have had no problems with Celebrity in carrying bottled water or pop onboard. There is no need to put it in your suitcase - you can carry it right on. I have seen people bringing cases of Coke or bottled water right through security with no problem.

I have also heard about Carnival now not allowing it. Hopefully Celebrity will not follow suit but it seems that lately the cruiselines are more and more into nickel and dime'ing their passengers so keep your fingers crossed!

Yes, you can bring bottled water, but... WHY??? The water from the ship's taps, freshly distilled from the ocean, is much purer than anything that you can buy in a store, and it's free!

Not to mention that at eight pounds per gallon, water adds an awful lot of weight to your luggage for which the airlines will assess surcharges....

Norm.

Good point about the water. The water onboard is just fine. In fact, what I usually do is just bring a water bottle, and then fill it up once or twice a day with ice and water from the room or the cafe.
