We did two Mississippi cruises- New Orleans to St. Louis on the Mississippi Queen and later St. Louis to St. Paul on the American Queen. We enjoyed both of them because they were big band cruises which attracted an older group. They run various different theme cruises during the year. The food is good, the cabins, pools, and fitness rooms are small. The cruises are scenic, educational with good entertainment depending on the theme of the cruise. We also sailed on the Columbia River on the Queen of the West which was similar. These cruises are not inexpensive depending on the cabin selected. They are all paddle wheel steamboats with interesting river ports and excursions- Example: Memphis has excursion to Graceland. Pick a theme you like and you won't be disappointed.
