I have booked up for a cruise down this picturesque rivber valley in the North East of England and was wondering if anyone else has been on this very reasonable trip?
Leaving South Shileds at approximatly 9.00am, you are treated to stunning views of the nearby Tynemouth fish quay and its unique aroma. The Tyne is unique in that its the only river in the WORLD where it is impossible for fish to live. Theres no time to recover, as the towering rustic cranes of the former Swan Hunter Ship yard come into view. There are numerous vending machines so you can enjoy a can of Sprite and a packet of Pickled onion space raiders as you look accross to the Byker Wall. Despite the burnt out cars and run down flats, this was at the cutting edge of housing development in the 1950's and played a significant role in the urban decline of the city. You arrive at North Shields 20 minutes later and all for the bargain price of £1.50. A truly memorable trip.
