Re: Prayer Request for CruiseAholic
Carole must be busy...so I will post this...John just sent this to a few of us a little while ago:
"Back home briefly, rushed home after getting the call to
pick up my father and head to the hospital. My step-mother
is home, but of course (she's a nurse, what can I say) not
wanting to listen.
She and my father had taken the dog (which would now be
at the spca if it was mine) to the vet for a grooming.
The dog (aka Alex) a 'SHITs-zoo' jumped out of the car
and started to run. My step-mother (Fran) ran after the
dog and caught up with him, and while running leaned over
to grab him and went sailing head first. A nice gentlemen
pulling into the lot saw it and got out of his car grab
Alex and helped Fran up and into the office. When she
got inside, she started to shake, her eyes were glassy
and she got dizzy. The ambulance was called.
She is badly bruised, skinned up, bad cut on her lip, and
her right hand and while x-rays showed nothing broken in
the hand, it is badly sprained and she can't even hold a
cup in it.
JUST great! I've just got back from the grocery working
on fixing dinner, will make sure they have stuff that
needs no work for breakfast and lunch tomorrow. I'm hoping
that my sister will handle dinner tomorrow night. Fran
is supposed rest with ice on the hand/lip for several
days. So, I'll have to make sure that everything
gets done until she can start using the hand, including
making sure my father (not a low maintenance person) is
Hope to go to work tomorrow for at least part of the day,
getting someone to check in on them while I'm at work.
CruiseAholic, my prayers are with you, your dad, sister and stepmom. I pray that God heals your stepmom quickly. I also pray that He strengthens and comforts you, your dad, and sister. Please be assured that you and yours are in our prayers, and God listens.
Our prayers are with you and your family. I'm an expert at falling and I deeply sympathize with Fran. (I fell into a friend's sunken living room and broke my left ankle and right elbow - the following Monday I went into work with two casts!!)
The shock and embarassment is hard enough to deal with, but the pain certainly makes the going rough. How wonderful to have a stepson like you!
