Oh Y2C, you are so flattering. Mary, all good comes to those wait. If you (your daughter) are looking, it is not gonna happen. Have her quit looking, and fate will take it's course. That is how I found Mark. True Love is wonderful.

Sorry guys, it may be a little too mushy for you.

:-) This is from Robin not Mark! :-)

Robin is absolutely right. Stop looking. After divorce I didn't want to know from men, or especially hear the "M" word ever again. Stopped looking and guess what happened?
Happily married now for a year and a half to a wonderful guy who's passion is cruising! Who knew!

Sorry, ladies, but my Mark is spoken for. Well, he isn't rich anyway.

Robin and Donna, same thing happened to me. Wasn't looking, in fact didn't want to meet anyone, and then he walked in and turned my whole life upside down.

Good luck to the searchers out there.

Cheers,
Michelle B.

All of the previous posters are right.

I am 57; been married 7 years to a saint. Married at age 50 for the first (and only) time. I was not looking for a husband; he "snuck" up on me.

You are trying too hard for your daughter. There's nothing wrong with being single. Just let it take its own course. Forcing it can bring much unhappiness.

Allow me to offer you Robert Riley Hopkins IV. He just turned 35 this week and HE's looking. He has a weakness for blondes.

He looks almost exactly like his dad, the true love of my life, who just keeps getting more handsome ...

Rich? Well, mostly in soul and spirit. He's a paramedic. Tremendous sense of humor. He loves his "stepmonster" (that would be me) so I think he'd do OK with a mother in law. And, hey, he's in the neighborhood. (I think you're in the Baltimore range?)

"Matchmaker, Matchmaker, make me a match ..."

Pamda...he sound perfect!
We are in Baltimore so thats not too far away.
The things actually my daughter is looking for are in this order.
Must have good relationship with family.
Sense of humor is a must.
Decent job.
And just be attracted to each other.
If you want I will pass on her email address to you to pass to him.
Let me know.

Hmm interesting concept here....first time for cruisemates..maybe a little romantic matchmaking...and who knows if it works...I see a cruisemates wedding on board a ship in the future..ahahah wow that would rock!
Let me know Pamda.

Where is she looking? There are plenty of men who are rich and lonely and looking too, but they don't know where the eligible bachelorettes are either.

My recommendation would be to take up golf and spend time at the country club.

Regards,
Thomas

A beautiful piece of poetry from the song All I Need by Michael Franks, our absolute favourite jazz musician and vocalist. I tried to include this in my groom's speech on our wedding day 12 years ago, and couldn't get past the first line. In my opinion, love and life for that matter, are all pre-determined by the greater power (Budha, Mohammed, God, ET?). Her love will come when the two lives merge and intertwine. Don't look, just trust the karma and the chi. Now the verse...

Poets say that love gives meaning to existence
We for instance, prove this point of view
I'm convinced our souls have search a thousand lifetimes
To find the right time
To enter, me and you.

Well, Mary Margaret ...

Hmmm.

Please e-mail me HER e-mail and I will pass it on to Rob. With her approval, of course.

And you're right. It would ROCK.

D'you think we could buy them a cruise for their honeymoon and go along?

Nah. Bad idea.

WOAH! Pamda and Mary Margaret, do I see a match made in heaven? And I think the cruise honeymoon idea is perfect, as long as the moms get to go along! Godd Luck!

MM ...

My younger older son and I were on the Alex G. Bell today and I pointed him to this thread. He is now QUITE annoyed with me because I am soliciting a babe for his older brother.

I told him that his turn would come.

Max's comment when he saw the photo, "Wow! What a fox!"

Got any more daughters? I gotta get these boys married off.

Does "the fox" have a name? E-mail is preferable to protect her privacy.

Heya,

As the aforementioned piece of meat being offered up for potential son-in-law material, I thought I should say hi.

Hi!

Ok. I would also like to say that if the offer is genuine, and if she is willing, I would be most interested in getting to know Kelly. My luck seems to be similar to hers in finding new people, and when the chance to meet someone of quality comes along I'd be a fool not to jump at it.

You can find my email in the link, I hope...if not, my evil stepmonster can continue to act as a messenger.

By the way...I don't think that picture of me she posted is a good one.

Rob.

I love this post! Pamda and Salem you are too cute! Especially as a perpetually single woman of 55 who has been engaged twice but never made it to the altar!

Now I don't think there is much hope for me! However, I am going to a very good friend's wedding this weekend and he is 51/52 and swore he would never, ever, every marry!

So it can happen, I think he met Gail at a church sponsored single gathering of sorts.

Holy Cow! I lost site of this link...thanks for updateing me
Ok lets see.....hmmmm..Send her email and a pic you think you like the most Rob. She will not mind I am always setting her up, it will be fun to see where this goes. Just tell her you met her Mom on Cruisemates...she is all about cruising, and taking her fourth cruise this coming March. Of course fellow cruisemates we will keep you up dated on the progress of the romance, if there is any. And by all means there will be a cruise and a wedding..hmmm how about on Jamaica..had a friend just do that.
As far as some of the negetive remarks some people make about me posting here, I actually have 3 sets of couples that are married now and met on the internet, so its not really a bad place.

Rob I will give you her email and tell her about the mail coming, trust me she will not mind and if say nothing happens the worst that can be is you two make a new friend.

Mary Margaret
