Default land sick?

just back (4-27) from the Maasdam. after every cruise, i get land sick. i was not sick
aboard the ship. but, now that i am off, i'm dizzy and nauseous. i took a couple of the
seasick pills and feel a little better. usually, it goes away after a couple of days. is there
a quicker cure?

You might want to give your doctor a call. Or, from now on, stay on the ship. <VBG>

There was a thread that covered this subject a while back. Most folks seemed to feel the cure was to get on another cruise. In fact it probably is an inner ear thing of having adjusted to the rolling on the ship. It will go away in a day or two .

It's a mild form of depression. At least that's the excuse I use.

I get it too. I'm fine on the ship, had a great dinner with the dining room half full because of the waves. But once I get home I have trouble making it up and down stairs without looking like a drunk fool.
Just takes time for your equalibrium to get back to normal. It takes me a bit longer because I have vertigo.

Jump on another cruise quickly, that would solve it too.

Also known as PCD (Post Cruise Depression). Another cruise is the only cure!
Just kidding, no, the others are right, it should go away in a few days - good luck!

It's called "land vertigo." Not fun.

Once I had it for three weeks and was walking into walls, literally. The doctor prescribed meclazine, and it got better, but it still hung around for quite a while.

I usually need to get medicine from my allergist. I get it from long flights, train rides, long bus trips, cruises, you name it!

However, I would rather deal with after effects than be sea sick on a cruise!

I get this, too. Usually goes away after a few days. I try to make it a positive thing and pretend that I am still on the ship. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Cheers,
