Tweety: It must be a result of being up late two nights in a row. I'll attempt to post some pics later today. There are still wedding festivities to participate in.....big picnic today and God has blessed us with blue skies and sunshine. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. However, the day was gray and overcast. It rained in the morning...but did not rain on the bride! There were only a few tears shed yesterday....for the most part, it was a very happy day. Everyone missed Lindsay's mom, but she surely was there in spirit.

That's better! Glad it produced pleasant memories. Things like that last a lifetime and you contributed to Lindsay's book of memories. :-)

Think of today's sunshine as Lindsay's mom smiling down on her daughter and friends.

I also went to a wedding this weekend. Of course, everyone I knew there kept telling me, "That'll be YOU soon!" and "Taking notes?" There was so much of that that when my friend walked down the aisle, I started to get nervous!

The reception was a lesson in what I DON'T want my reception to be like. Waited too long for food... VERY annoying DJ, although we kept ourselves amused by making fun of him all night... "dollar dance" which I think is rather tacky... cash bar... just a lot of things that were not to my taste. Well, maybe people will think my reception is dull, but at least I'll be happy.

Glad Lindsay's wedding was beautiful, ML. It rained on us, too, but again, not on the bride.

Cheers,
Michelle B.

And did you enjoy doing the Chicken Dance, Michelle?

Why not just have a pay-at-the door reception? You could set a new trend.

[Puts on flowered garden hat, pearls, and white gloves ...]

The purpose of a wedding reception (read that word RECEPTION) is for the newlyweds to RECEIVE the good wishes of friends and family and to WELCOME them for the first time as husband and wife to their "home."

There was a time when the only appropriate venues for receptions were the home of the bride (or other close relative) or a private club to which the bride's family belonged.

Now we have "catering halls" -- some more upscale than others.

I am sure your reception will be as lovely as you are. And I doubt that anything that happens in a room where you're present could be boring.

[Removes funny-looking outfit.]

Ah, we made sure to leave well before the chicken dance, Pam. I should have known what type of wedding it would be when I opened the invitation (addressed to me "and guest" via pre-printed address label) and two small cards fell out advertising where the bride and groom are registered.

Thanks for the kind thoughts. I don't believe I'll have my reception in my house, though; just imagining the cleanup gives me a headache.

Cheers,
Michelle B.
