Default Alaska Helicopter Tours

If you have been on a Costal helicopter tour out of Juneau, please let me know how bumpy the ride. I want to land on a glacier but am not good on rides at Disney or Universal Studios. Is the flight plane better? Also, how is the get boat ride thru the eagle preserve at Haines. These forums are wonderful

We did the float plane and it was wonderful, smooth ride and fabulous sights. Our friends did the helicopter and landed on a glacier, they enjoyed it but said it got really cold standing out there waiting to be picked up again, so dress warmly. Enjoy Alaska it is beautiful country.

We did the float plane - I took Dramamine and kind of wished I hadn't. It was all very smooth and easy - was not sick at all (and I get sick in the car). We didn't land on the glacier, though. Just flew around and landed back in the water. Enjoy!!

I hate theme park rides, get car sick (if I'm not driving), but LOVED my helicopter rides.. have done it twice in Alaska, and once in Hawaii.

Like sitting in an easy chair and getting gently lifted.

I don't "do" amusement park rides - except merry-go-rounds. I tried the helicopter to the glacier excursion. It was marvelous! Got a tiny bit nervous on lift off but the ride itself was smooth and the scenery was spectacular. Really enjoyed our two stops on the glaciers. They gave us "glacier boots" but the ice is still slippery so watch your step.

We did a glacier flight, too. I hated it. Plane was an old Stearmen. I sat in back and couldn't see a thing. Had difficulty geting in and out and wound up covered in bruises. Never again!
