Cruise Cynic, you have way too much time on your hands. Then again, this week, home sick, I too have too much time on my hands, and maybe I'll just download some of that great music!
I used to be a member of Kazaa and paid my subscription for a year. A virus was downloaded with a music file and wiped out my hard drive. After getting everything back up and running I tried to contact Kazaa to get it's program back on my machine (which I had paid for) and nowhere on their web site was a phone number to call. The only thing you could do was download another version, and pay again, for the software.
Rip off! And very damaging.
I then started using WinMx, which is free, and again I've got a virus. It hasn't done any harm but Norton Antivirus can't delete it, or fix it, or quarantine it. It sits there in my computer just waiting................
