I can't speak for the airline fares, but I was up in Toronto several years ago when my boys were in high school. We went out to breakfast with my dad and step-mother and the bill was $32! That's probably inexpensive by today's standards. But the point is, there was a food tax, a beverage tax, a sales tax, etc. WOW. Our meals weren't that expensive, like the $2.99 special, but the tax got us! Lynne
That is the way it is here in our tourist community..we have sales, state, business, and a hamburger tax..on a 3.00 meal there is like 58 cent tax..that is why McD, Sonic and some of the other resturants have moved out of the city into the county. They say it is to collect the tax from all the tourist..well in the off season guess who still gets stuck with the tax. .and the off season is way much longer than the tourist season.
