Default I made my mother cry.

At Thanksgiving, my mother said that her hearing aid was dead, and all she wanted for Christmas was a new hearing aid. She said she could get a reconditioned one for about $600. Since I won a little money from a World Series board I was on, I decided to surprise her Saturday with the $600. I just can't understand women! She started crying. Then my wife started crying. Boy, some people just can't receive a little gift without getting a little emotional.

There goes the gambling budget on the cruise. <G>

Tears of joy, tears of relief, tears of love, tears of appreciation for your gesture.
Eddie , your sacrifice and generosity are truly what the holiday spirit are all about.
May your last dollar in the gambling budget be returned to you a thousand fold.
Happy Holidays

You are a model son and Mom likes you best! That's why she cried. She probably cried when you brought her dandelions and stolen tulips when you were a kid.....some things never change.

Good for you!

Ed,
I noticed, you forgot to mention, that the reason she needs the hearing device is because you played that loud music all the time.
Enjoy, even the crying, Ed. I would give anything to hear my Mom talk, laugh, or even cry one more time.

Jason,

The real reason is that I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters. With all of the noise we made, it's no surprise that she needs the hearing aid. <VBG>

Eddie,

You truly are special and your mom knew that. (and if she didn't, she knows now.) When she gets the new hearing aid, be sure to TELL her you love her, too. (She knows this already, but tell her just the same.) Fantastic christmas gift!!

You did much more for your mother than any enjoyment you would have received from the casino.

Ed, what a wonderful son you are. Don't you love it when you get to play Santa Claus like that?

Dear Eddie,
Good job!! Those are the best tears to see from a mom. She knows she raised you right!! It made her heart thump, and she was speechless from your thoughtfulness. The tears said it all! Lynne

You already gambled on the gift and you came out a winner in your mother's eyes and it doesn't get better than that. Your mother probably will not get any better gift than that. I'll also bet that her reaction was better than the joy of the slots!
