Yesterday our youngest came home from school. She told me one of her teachers just came back from her honeymoon cruise. Daughter asked teacher what cruise line and the teacher replied: Well, I don't know". Our 11 year old daughter asked her what the ship looked liked and from the description she concluded it was a Princess ship.
What a girl! Why would people not know the cruise line or at least the name of the ship?

June 1st 2015--- Denali Explorer Cruise on Star Princess!
Sue, I too am taken back when this happens, but not as surprised as I used to be. I've run across many people that don't remember the ship's name or the cruise line. Sounds like all the arrangements were made by someone else---that's stress free cruising!
But what they DO remember is that they had a GOOD time and I guess that's the important thing!
I look it as a matter of priorities. Most of us on this forum are in the category of "Cruise addicted." and are at one end of the spectrum. I have had people who think I am just as strange because of my passion for cruising and the attention I pay to the ships, cruise lines, etc. To them it's a vacation and that's it.
There are negatives to both sides if taken to the extreme. If you are too far at either end of the spectrum you will not enjoy the experience as much. If you are totally oblivious you will have problems and the experience will not be fun and probably a big disappointment. If you spend too much time obsessing on the details you will end up not seeing the forest through the trees and it will diminish the whole experience. In the end it will lose it's excitement. Both ends can end up causing you more stress than you had before you took the cruise.
The analogy I use is: Read the map before you go and then look at the scenery along the way.
My wife has a hard time remembering each ship we've been on. To her many of them seem the same. I agree that many are quite similar, especially those within the same cruise line.
